Thinking Machines: Inkling (batch)

The thinkingmachines/inkling:batch row was last present in the OpenRouter snapshot of 2026-09-21 and absent by the 2026-09-23 snapshot. On 2026-09-25, OpenRouter's model catalog listed the standard thinkingmachines/inkling and thinkingmachines/inkling:free IDs but not :batch, while still carrying :batch IDs for other vendors' models. The batch endpoint lookup still answered with the model's name and description but an empty endpoint list: no provider serves this ID through OpenRouter.

The model itself was still offered that day. OpenRouter's standard endpoints listed DeepInfra, BaseTen and Together serving Inkling, and Thinking Machines' Tinker model list still included Inkling, with serverless inference in beta. Neither source, nor any announcement found, explains why the batch ID disappeared or says it was renamed or folded into another tier. The standard row's listed prices were by then the same as the batch row's last listed ones, which is consistent with a fold but does not establish one. The timeline event dates the missing OpenRouter row, not a retirement of Inkling.
