DeepSeek: DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 (batch)

This page tracks OpenRouter's batch listing of DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731, the row deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash-0731:batch. That row was last seen in OpenRouter's catalog on 2026-09-21. The GET /api/v1/models response, checked again on 2026-09-24, still lists the standard deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash-0731 row and the newer deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash:batch row, but not this one. OpenRouter's endpoint listing for the batch id returned the model with an empty endpoints list the same day, while the listing for the standard 0731 id returned 30 provider endpoints. OpenRouter's Batch API Quickstart says, "Batch runs on :batch endpoint variants," and that "A submit for a model with no :batch endpoint returns 400." So on OpenRouter the 0731 model is still served synchronously, but nothing currently serves it in batch.

DeepSeek has separately retired the model from its own API. Its Change Log entry dated 2026-07-31 introduced the retrained V4-Flash API version ("DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 keeps the same model architecture and size as DeepSeek-V4-Flash-Preview, and was only re-post-trained"). The entry dated 2026-09-10 says, "The previous-generation models V4 Flash and V4 Flash Vision Exp have been retired; for compatibility, the model names deepseek-v4-flash and deepseek-v4-flash-vision-exp are temporarily routed to V4.1 Flash." Its Models & Pricing page says the legacy deepseek-v4-flash name is still accepted, but "the corresponding models have been retired, their requests are served by the DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash model and billed at the Flash price."

Neither source explains why OpenRouter dropped this page's row, and neither says that its batch traffic moved to the deepseek/deepseek-v4.1-flash:batch listing. The vendor retirement is documented. Whether that retirement is the reason the batch row disappeared is not documented, and this page does not assume it is.
